SOMEONE BROKE INTO LINDSAY LOHAN'S HOME OVER THE WEEKEND:

Someone broke into LINDSAY LOHAN'S home in the Hollywood Hills over the weekend.

There's no word if anything was stolen, but Lindsay's hot mom DINA said, "The safe was ripped out of the wall, and the door was off the hinges and the door handles removed."

Lindsay was attending a birthday party for a family friend, and returned to her home early Saturday morning to find it in that condition.

Dina says Lindsay is, "okay, but upset."  She also said Lindsay was already in the process of packing up, because she had planned to move to a, "safer place."

You may recall that back in May, surveillance cameras filmed two guys trying to break into Lindsay's pad.  But they gave up after failing to pry open a back window.

(Failures or not, they've never been caught.  And there's no word if the cops think they might be the same guys who perpetrated the break-in this weekend.)
