DINA LOHAN ONCE GOT PUNCHED IN THE FACE WHILE TRYING TO GET LINDSAY INTO REHAB:

MICHAEL LOHAN released another one of his recorded phone conversations yesterday. This one was with his ex-wife, DINA . . . and he claims it took place in September of 2008.
On the tape, Dina tells Michael that LINDSAY once PUNCHED HER IN THE FACE when she tried to get her to go to rehab.
She says, "You don't even know what I'd go through trying to get her into, like, rehab and stuff.
"She'd like, punch me in the face, kick me out of the car . . . like you don't know the (crap) I went through trying to get her an intervention by myself. It was very difficult."
She adds, "She's really sad and really hurt and really . . . despondent. I told her not to go to L.A. at 18 . . . she did. I couldn't leave these other three [kids] to go get her and it was, like, a mess."

Also yesterday, Michael defended his decision to release the tapes, saying he fears for Lindsay's life . . . and he's tired of Lindsay and Dina making him out to be the bad guy.
He said, "I admit, I'm being a bit selfish in releasing the tapes. But I'm tired of being lied about. I'm tired of Dina and others making me out to be someone I'm not, so now I'm going to prove to the world who the real liars are."
Meanwhile, Lindsay hit up her Twitter page again yesterday to respond to the chaos. And this time she REALLY unloaded on Michael
She called him a DEADBEAT DAD, and said the only reason her mom stayed with him as long as she did was because he, "always threatened to kill her if she [left]."
She also said he was a drug addict and an unfaithful husband.
She added, "I just hope I can show others how to be strong through times & to be able to stand up for yourself and loved ones no matter what!"
"Good news is, I haven't called him many times @ all-so, it will end sooner than later!!! Lol"

(He also admits he used drugs back in the day. But he claims he only had extramarital relations ONE TIME, when he and Dina were separated. And he says he never threatened to kill Dina . . .)
