CHUBBY WOMEN FEEL WORSE ABOUT THEMSELVES WHEN THEY LOOK AT MODELS . . . EVEN IF THEY'RE PLUS-SIZE

For years, we've been told that fashion models are TOO SKINNY . . . and that it's bad for the average woman's self-esteem, because it's an impossible standard to meet.  And we all bought into it . . .

But it seems we've all been taken for a ride on this one, because according to a new study, chubby women STILL feel badly about themselves, even when they look at pictures of PLUS-SIZE MODELS.

The logic is that when "average-looking" chubbies see a plus-size model, they feel inferior, because even though the model is overweight too, she's still tall, well-proportioned, and generally good-looking.

In other words, they hate that a woman their own size is better looking than they are.

But the flipside to this is that when "average-looking" skinny women see a plus-size model, they actually feel BETTER about themselves, because they still consider themselves to be closer to the beauty "ideal" than the model.  Or look at it this way . . .

Skinny women like looking at plus-size models because it makes them feel like they're better looking than even the prettiest overweight women.  But chubby women don't like looking at plus-size models because it just reinforces the idea that they're ugly.  (Jezebel)
