Each year, Yankee Pete and his band of Merry Hoodlum Elves select families that need a little extra hand around the holidays and deliver gifts and other surprises. 

The deadline to nominate a family has passed, no further nominations are being accepted.  DONATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED.

Please continue to read below carefully, we’ve attempted to answer most potential questions you may have…

Nominated A Family & Haven’t Heard Anything Back?
Not all families have been selected yet.  Once selected, the nominator will be called, usually no more than a week ahead of time.  The person who nominates them plays a VERY active role in getting the Breaking & Entering planned.  If you don’t hear anything back by 12/8, your family has not been selected, but it will still be made available to other individuals and organizations that “adopt” the families that we were not able to get to on the radio.

Want To Adopt A Family That We Don’t Get To On The Air?
We have many applications at the studio and we appreciate you wanting to help a family that is not selected for Breaking & Entering.  You will need to come to the Ace & TJ Studio to review the applications.  Sending, faxing, or e-mailing the applications TO you is not possible in order to try to protect the confidentiality of the families nominated.  Please e-mail YankeePete@AceTJ.com to set up a time to stop by to review the nominations.

Want To Be A Hoodlum Elf
While we have all of our "day-of" Hoodlum Elves lined up (they rarely give up their spot year after year), we sometimes need help in the planning and the wrapping of gifts.  Please e-mail YankeePete@AceTJ.com and you’ll be added to the volunteer list to receive updates on “work days”.

Do We Get The Family’s Reaction?
No.  It’s our intent to be completely anonymous.  We hope that it brightens the eyes of the children and inspires hope in the parents.  There’s no need for confirmation.

Need To Nominate A Family That Needs Help?
The deadline for nominations for Breaking & Entering Christmas passed on 11/24.  We do have a lot of individuals and organizations that come to us to adopt families that were not selected for the on-air Breaking & Entering Christmas events.  I'm proud to say that last year, over 100 families were helped through various people who came in and adopted them to help provide Christmas.  Go ahead and send the information and I will place it with the remaining nominations in an effort to get them some help.  Please understand though, this is no representation or guarantee any help, but we'll do what we can.

Want To Donate?  How Much?  How Many?  What Do You Need?
Thank you for your willingness to donate.  Gift cards would be the best…to national chain stores (Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy), national chain restaurants (fast food or family style), and gas cards.  New un-wrapped toys are also acceptable…for ages infant through 17 years old.  Non-perishable food items are also welcome.  If your business wants to donate gift cards, please feel free to send them.  Unfortunately, I just can’t give you specifics on what we need for each family ahead of time.  You can drop them off or ship them to:  Ace & TJ Show, 4015 Stuart Andrew Boulevard, Charlotte NC 28217..

Exactly What Do You Need For The Next Family?
Situations sometimes change quickly, I cannot provide you the specific information you’re requesting.  I’m sorry.  See above for items that are acceptable donations.  There is no specific “wish list”, but I guarantee that any donated items from the above list will find a good home with a family who can definitely use it.

Can I Donate Money?
Yes.  Gift cards are better, but if you would prefer to donate money, please make the check payable to “ATJ” with Breaking & Entering Christmas in the memo field and send to Ace & TJ’s Breaking & Entering Christmas, 4015 Stuart Andrew Boulevard, Charlotte NC  28217.
